are there any crew members still with us that remember flying this mission.i know that they took off on a heading of 300 degrees and the target was hollandia.i am still doing research for a friend whose relative went down on yankee doodle dandy.what i am looking for is your flight path, when you ran in to any flak, was there a fighter excort(as there were victories by p-38s that fell in the area of hollandia aerodrome and lake sentani)a taxi sequence sheet for the mission (i realize that there wasn't a whole lot of paperwork kept....however this was after JANUARY 1944)were the 3 aerodromes(cyclops, sentani, hollandia)your targets,i am i correct in saying the jap fighters didn't make any attacks till around 1100hrs as that is whenyyd was shotdown.any help would be great .....earl
