Message No. 455Message:
Thoburn flew as a gunner with the 5th Air Force, 400th Bomb Squardron, 90th Bombardment Group. We think he crewed with the Double Shot which was commanded by Lt. Ed Burnham and the 50 Cal Gal. He was awarded the Silver Star, Air Metal w/3 bronze oak leafs, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, Americal Campaign Medal, Asitaic Pacific w/4 bronze starts, World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal w/ a bronze star.
We are trying to find anyone who can assist us in finding out more about him, and what planes he flew in. Also, we know he was a part of the Jolly Roger and want to know what shoulder patch would he would have worn was it the skull w/bombs or the Pirate.
We can be reached by e-mail or 909-795-2552 most anytime. Call collect...
