90th Bomb Group Message Board
Message No. 394Message:
My Dad, Stanley J. Ryczak, was a navigator with the 320th Bomb Group. His principal plane was "Old Ironsides", tail number 053. He passed away suddenly in 1999. I have some photos, memorabilia. I have one or two VHS tapes made by one of his crew members about 8 years ago putting on tape all the still photos the crew still had, dubbing it with a narrative. I also have his hand written notes, sort of occasional diary-like pages, of some of his training and of the last couple of months of his tour - fall of 1945. I think that 3 of his original crew of 10 are still alive. I may be able to get contact information. One is his pilot, Chet Hollis.
Drop me a note and let me know more specifically what you are interested in.
Dad would have very much appreciated your Sqdrn embracing the 320th of the 90th Bomb Group. If he were still alive he would have liked very much to visit your squadron and tell his stories. He was very tight with his crew and very proud of his service in defense of our country.
