Re: Live Wire B24 44-41234
Mark That looks awesome. I don’t have any color photos, so I can’t help you there. I’m curious why you chose the live wire. I’d appreciate more pictures or info on your plane. Thanks. My apologies for the very late response as to why I chose Live Wire for my model. Years ago I built a similar Radio...

Re: Anyone know about naval aviators serving in 90th Bomb group?
He may have started out as a naval Cadet and transferred or re-enlisted. My uncle Paul was in the Army Quartermaster Corps stationed up in Alaska when the war broke out and then re-enlisted in the Air Corps and ended up in the 90th B.G.. Also, I remember reading in one of the 90th BG books about som...

Re: Evan B. Smith B-24 waist gunner 320th? Big Emma Iverson crew
I found a few articles that mention Lt. Iverson's crew in the book "Legacy of the 90th Bombardment Group". He apparently was in the early part of the war, 1942-43 Unfortunately, Men weren't mentioned in the books unless they were a casuallty or a pilot so no direct reference to Evan B. Smi...

Re: Seeking information MIA 400th Sqdrn B24
My books only have what happen to them, victims of an effective fighter attack while searching for another crew shot down. It was soon after the 90th BG was operational so the aircraft are olive drab. Aircraft 41-24044 did not have a name yet so that means no nose art but it would have looked very s...

Re: Grandfather B-24 Shot Down -Survived!
I found some items in the 90th B.G. books that might be useful to you, The first is a photo of the Capt. E.L.Marshall crew (Capt Marshall was called "George" in the book). The photo is from the original yearbook and shows your grandfather. It's the photo you now have but lists the names. I...

Re: Seeking information about 2n Lt Joseph Horgan, 319th
In "Tales Of the Jolly Rodgers", it lists Lt. Horgan received these awards - Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart. The book goes into detail on some air medal awards but unfortunately not for Lt. Horgan. You might be able to track that down on the Military archives site....

Re: Live Wire B24 44-41234
Here's my model of LIVE WIRE. It's a 1/12th scale flying Radio Control model with 70 flights so far. I thought the color of the pillow was brown but I saw a painting of LIVE WIRE recently and the Pillow was blue and her suit was red. Does anyone know which colors are correct?
