90th Bomb Group Message Board
Message No. 71Message:
Dear Sir,
I was browsing the net for information about the war in New Guinea and came across your site through 5th Air Force MIA's. As a kid I lived in Lae and remember at the time (early 1980's) a Liberator being found in the jungle just a few miles from Port Moresby. As it should, this caused some interest from the US as missing personnel were also located aboard the crashed bomber. I distinctly remember seeing a photo in a magazine showing the Jolly Roger tailplane. I thought this might be of some interest to you, as I'm not sure if you are aware of this incident.
Scott
