Lt. Golden's daughter is Ruth Noble Groom. She was once married to Winston Groom, an Army officer in Vietnam who became a reporter and novelist. Winston wrote "Forrest Gump" and other books; his latest is "1942" about that year being a turning point in WW II.
Ruth Noble lives in Washington DC and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We are waiting for the book to arrive and will get in touch with you after she has a chance to read about her father. She was a tiny baby when her father died and does not know many details about the situation. Thanks for your interest and help. Robin Johnson
