i wasnt aware of just how many bombers were lost in and around new guinea so thank you for the answer on that......but as far as the norden sight goes at least in the european theater they kept the nordens out of the planes and under guard unless they were actually on a mission....they didnt let the bombadiers have them until it was time for the actual mission....they had to sign for them and install them a few hours prior to their mission during the briefing and preflight activities....but maybe they did it differently in the pacific theater....i was just wondering if they recored the serial numbers of the bombsights in correlation with the serial numbers of the planes

    I may misunderstand the question. Most of the losses of the 90th were in around and while the group was in New Guinea.Even when at Iron Range the missions were frequently to New Guinea. New Guinea is ... more
