90th Bomb Group Message Board
Message No. 344Message:
My grandfather, Stanley J. Sajdak, was in the 90th Bomb Group in WWII. He was stationed in New Guinea and elsewhere. He was a bomb site mechanic. Unfortunately he died about four years ago. He rarely talked about his experiences, but he used to take my grandmother to reunions years ago.
Anyone recognize his name? I think he liked pulling practical jokes on his buddies. (Some story about waking a guy up with a string running all the way around the barracks) and I think his nickname may have been "Moon" (Not sure about that.)
Additionally, is there a national memorial or any other memorial dedicated to the members of the 90th Bomb Group?
Thanks,
David
