David Harter, Thanks so much for your quick post. Interesting info from the Wiley Book. Uncle Ralph's sister, my aunt Judy, bought me the book just after her brother (my dad) died. And that was the first time I had read about any details of Ralph's death. Even though I had tracked down Robert Yonker prior to the book's publication, and by telephone in 1989.
Bob Yonker provided additional information about the incident of Oct 16, 1943 to an author whose book included the additional details not in the Wiley book. I've got his paragraph in my notes, and have included them somewhere in my work product.
I've also saved various info over the years, but haven't gathered them together yet, but would be pleased and happy to share them with you. Unfortunately some of the websites have closed down over the years, and my files are are on numerous memory cards, and in different folders, and I'm only recently been able to start the process of getting the groups of files and folders assembled some sort of cohesion. To mention nothing of the duplicates.
Anyway, my email is abbycord at msn.com, if you'd like to compare notes, get in touch that way, and you can send a phone number I can call you at, some of this is probably easier to start with a brief phone call.
Thanks so much.
Bill Ralph McCord, Terre Haute Indiana
